How it Works
Generally, therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes. On your first visit, I will complete a broad assessment covering all aspects of functioning including: emotional symptoms, health issues, financial situation, employment concerns, and so forth. Some clients have asked why I spend the first session asking so many questions seemingly unrelated to the major concern. I do this because I know how different areas of your life affect the other. For example, if you have a marital problem or conflict with coworkers, you may not even be aware (and I won’t either unless I ask) that you have underlying anxiety or depression.
In most cases, I meet with people weekly, but other arrangements can be made based on your needs. If you need more intensive care due to a crisis of some kind, I can meet with you more than once per week. If scheduling or payment is an issue, we can meet every other week or twice a month.
Fees and Insurance
I charge $120 per session which can be paid by cash or check as well as debit and major credit cards. I usually collect the session fee in the beginning to get receipts and other paperwork completed before we begin.
I am no longer accepting insurance.
I also accept payment from Bishops or other clergy, but this would need to be arranged prior to our meeting.
